How to pin messages

Ever wanted to save a message so you can easily find it later? Well, we’ve got you covered! You can pin messages in your direct messages or group chats.

Pinning a Message

To pin a message, tap on the three dots/More icon next to the message you want to pin or just right-click on the message.

Important to know: To pin messages in a group chat, you’ll need the Manage Messages permission (or be the group owner). If you don’t have this permission, you won’t see the right option.

Then select Pin message from the menu.

Good to know:

• You can pin up to 25 messages in a chat. Once you reach the limit, you’ll need to unpin a message to pin a new one.
• Unread pins will show an indicator in the chat so members can notice there are new pinned messages.
• Pins are real-time synced, so if you pin a message, everyone in the chat will get the unread indicator right away.

Viewing Pinned Messages

Any pinned messages in a chat will appear in the pin window, which you can access by tapping the pin icon in the top right corner of the chat.

If you have unread pins in a chat, you’ll see an indicator next to the pin icon. To mark all pins as read, just tap the pin icon.

Removing Pinned Messages

Go to the pin window by tapping the pin icon in the top right corner of the chat. When you’re ready to unpin a message, just tap the X icon next to the message you want to unpin.

Confirm you want to unpin the message, and that’s it!

Good to know:

• DM pins can be removed by both you and the other JOI in the chat.

Move Pinned Messages to the Top

You can re-pin a message to move it to the top of the pinned messages list.

Now, there’s a chance the pin you want to move is kinda old, so you might not want to scroll through all the chat messages to find it. No worries! Just go to the pin window and tap the arrow up icon, then confirm you want to move the pin to the top.
