Using your items

The best part about an item is that it’s not just an image, you can actually use it in any chat on JOI. Here’s how you can use your items:

Using an item

  1. Go to the chat where you want to use your item, it can be a private conversation or a group chat. Once you’re there, tap the plus icon on the chat bar, then select Use Item.

  2. Your inventory will open, showing all the items you own. Tap the item you want to use.

  3. You can now see the item in the chat bar. Below the item, you can select the action you want to perform with the item. We’ll explain each of these below.

Use item

  1. Once you’ve selected the action, tap the paper plane icon to send your message.

Important to know:

  • If the item you’re trying to use is not persistent, it will be consumed after you use it.
  • If the item is stackable, only one copy will be consumed.

Item actions

Show off

This action will show the item in the chat, along with a message saying you’re showing it off. Use this action to show your friends the cool item you own.

  • It has an eye icon

Use

This action will use the item in the chat.

  • It has a hand icon.
  • It has a special text depending on the item you’re using. For example, if you’re using a food item, it will say you’re eating it. If you’re using a pet, it will say you’re playing with it.

Wear

  • It has a an arrow pointing up icon.
  • It’s only available for clothing items you’re not wearing.
  • It’s not just a text message in the chat, it will actually change your outfit in your profile so everyone can see it.
  • If you’re wearing an item and you wear another one of the same type, the previous one will be removed.

Undress

Take off the a clothing item you’re wearing.

  • It has a an arrow pointing down icon.
  • It’s only available for clothing items you’re wearing.
  • It’s not just a text message in the chat, it will actually change your outfit in your profile so everyone can see it.

Gift

This action will send the item to another user in the chat.

  • It has a gift icon.
  • If it’s a private chat, the item will be sent to the user directly.
  • If it’s a group chat, you’ll have to tap the Select JOI… button to choose the user you want to send the item to.

Show what you’re wearing

If you want to show off your whole outfit, tap the plus icon on the chat bar, then select Show My Outfit.

By default, we won’t include the underwear items (Inner Top, Inner Bottom, Underwear) you’re wearing in the outfit. If you want to include them, tap the Include underwear button.
