How to change your JOI username

Everybody on JOI has a unique username or handle that begins with an @ symbol and also appears in each profile URL. Essentially, it’s a way to identify you, so other JOIs can find you easily.

Note:

  • Your display name — or just your name — is different from your username. It’s not unique, and can contain spaces and special characters. You can change your display name anytime.

Rules for usernames

  • 2-15 characters long
  • Can’t be all numbers
  • Only letters, numbers, underscores, and periods
  • Cannot start or end with a period nor contain two periods in a row

How to change your username

  1. Click the more button from the navigation bar.

  2. Click on Settings.

  3. Click on Change your username under the About you section.

  4. Enter your new username.

  5. Click the Save button.

Note:

Changing your username won’t affect your existing followers or interactions with others. We’ll update your profile URL to match your new username and people on JOI will see your new username instead of your old one.
