Social marks

Relationships are a big part of JOI, and one fun way to show them is by using social marks. Social marks are a way to show your relationships with other JOIs, like friends, family, or lovers. You can also use them to show others what you think about them.

List of social marks

Each social mark is identified by a unique emoji, here’s a list of the most common ones:

  • 🤩 BFF - Best Friends Forever is a huge deal, mark your ride or die friends with this one.
  • 😊 Bestie - A more casual version of BFF, for those friends you love but they’re not at the top of your list.
  • 🌈 Vibe - You vibe with this person, you have a good connection, or you just think they’re cool.
  • 💘 Crush - You have a crush on this person, a good first move, let’s see if they like you back.
  • ❤️ Lover - You’re dating this person, or you’re in a romantic relationship with them.
  • 💍 Partner - You’re in a relationship with this person, you can also use it if you’re married or engaged.
  • 🫂 Family - You’re blood-related, easy as that.
  • 🔥 Hottie - You think this JOI is hot hot hot, hot enough to melt the ice caps.

How to use social marks

To use a social mark, you need to go to the JOI’s profile and click on the Mark as… button. You can choose up to three social marks for each JOI, and you can also remove them whenever you want.

We will notify the JOI when you mark them so they can see it and decide if they want to mark you back.

Emoji combos

You can create new social marks by the way you both mark each other, here are some examples:

  • 💛 Super BFF - You are each other’s BFF.
  • 🤞 BFF Dreams - You’re their BFF but they’re not yours.
  • 💕 Besties - You both consider each other besties.
  • 😊 Best Friend - One of you considers the other their bestie but not the other way around.
  • 💞 Lovebirds - You’re each other’s crush.
  • ❤️‍🔥 Burning Desire - You have marked them as a Crush and also as a Hottie.
  • 💖 Lovers - You both have marked each other as Lover.
  • 💐 Life Allies - You both have marked each other as Partner.
  • 💍 Soulmates - You both have marked each other as Partner and Crush!
  • 🫣 Forbidden Love - There’s a Crush mark but also a Family mark… yikes.
  • 💓 Hooked - They have marked you as a Crush but you haven’t marked them back.
  • 🌶️ Hot Match - You have marked each other as Hottie.
  • 🌈 Vibe Check - You both have marked each other as Vibe.
  • 🫂 Family - You have marked each other as Family.

There’s also some social marks you can earn by the way other JOIs mark you:

  • ✨ Smooth Operator - You have been marked as a Vibe by 20 different JOIs.
  • 💗 Heartbreaker - You have been marked as a Crush by 10 different JOIs.
  • 🌟 Top Pal - You have been marked as a Bestie by 10 different JOIs.

Social marks in DMs

Some social mark emojis will also show up in your DMs, like the Super BFF emoji (💛) so you can easily see who you have a special relationship with

Why use social marks?

There’s a thing about social marks that makes them special, they’re not just a way to show your relationships, they’re also a way to show your feelings. You can express how you feel about someone without saying a word, and that’s pretty cool.
