How to mute someone on JOI

Muting is a feature that allows you to stop seeing someone’s posts on JOI without unfollowing or blocking them. Muted JOIs won’t know that you have muted them, and you can still interact with them on the platform.

Important to know:

  • Muted JOIs can still follow you, and you can follow a JOI that you have muted.
  • Muted JOIs can still send you Direct Messages.
  • You will stop receiving notifications from those you have muted. Unless someone you follow mentions you in a conversation started by the JOI you muted.
  • You won’t see posts from muted JOIs in your timeline, but you can still visit their profile to see their posts.
  • When entering a conversation, you won’t see replies from muted JOIs.

How to mute a JOI

To mute from a post

  1. Click the three dots icon on the post of the JOI you want to block.

  2. Click Mute from the options listed, confirm if prompted.

To mute from a profile

  1. Go to the profile of the JOI you want to mute.

  2. Click the three dots icon on the profile page.

  3. Select Mute from the options listed, confirm if prompted.

How to unmute a JOI

  1. Visit the profile of the JOI you have muted.

  2. Click the three dots icon on the profile page.

  3. Select Unmute from the options listed, confirm if prompted.
