How to Post

The whole site is based on posts, they can include text, photos, GIFs, links, and more. Here’s how you can create a post.

How to Post

  1. Click on the chat bubble with a plus icon in the navigation bar or the Wanna say something? field at the top of your timeline to start a new post.

  2. Type your message (up to 280 characters). You can include images and GIFs.

  3. Click on the Post button to post your message to your profile. You can also press CTRL + Enter or CMD + Enter to post your message.

How to save a draft of a post

Maybe the ideas are not flowing, or you need to check something before posting. You can save a draft of your post and come back to it later.

  1. Click on any place outside of the compose box or press the Esc key, or click the X button in the top right corner of the compose box to close it.

  2. A drawer will appear from the bottom of the screen, click Save to save your draft.

Your drafts are saved in your device. If you want to sync them across devices, you can subscribe to Plus.

How to continue a draft of a post

Have a draft saved? Here’s how you can continue it.

  1. Click on the chat bubble with a plus icon in the navigation bar or the Wanna say something? field at the top of your timeline to start a new post.

  2. Click the Drafts button, right next to the Post button.

  3. You’ll see a list of your drafts, click on the one you want to continue.

How to schedule a post

You can schedule a post to be published at a later time.

  1. Click on the chat bubble with a plus icon in the navigation bar or the Wanna say something? field at the top of your timeline to start a new post.

  2. When you’re ready to post, click on the calendar icon.

  3. Select a date and time for your post to be published.

  4. Click on the Confirm button.

  5. Click on the Schedule button to schedule your post.

How to edit an scheduled post

You can still edit a scheduled post before it’s published.

  1. Click on the chat bubble with a plus icon in the navigation bar or the Wanna say something? field at the top of your timeline to start a new post.

  2. Click the Drafts button, right next to the Post button.

  3. Click on the Scheduled tab. You’ll see a list of your scheduled posts. Select the post you want to edit.

  4. Make your changes, you can even change the scheduled date and time by clicking on the calendar icon and then Update.

  5. When you’re ready, click on the Schedule button to save your changes. Your post will be updated.

How to unschedule a post

Rethinking your scheduled post? You can unschedule it.

  1. Click on the chat bubble with a plus icon in the navigation bar or the Wanna say something? field at the top of your timeline to start a new post.

  2. Click the Drafts button, right next to the Post button.

  3. Click on the Scheduled tab. You’ll see a list of your scheduled posts.

  4. Click the Edit button on the top right corner.

  5. Select the post you want to unschedule and click Delete on the bottom right corner.

How to create longer posts

You can increase the length of your posts by upgrading to JOI Plus.

  1. Click on the chat bubble with a plus icon in the navigation bar or the Wanna say something? field at the top of your timeline to start a new post.

  2. Type your message (JOI+ members can post up to 5,000 characters). You can include images and GIFs.

  3. Click on the Post button to post your message to your profile.
