Polls are a great way to know what the people on JOI think about a topic. You can easily create a poll, we’ll show you how to do it.

Voting on a Poll

To vote on a poll in a post, click on the option you want to vote for. The results will be displayed after you vote.

  • The option you voted for will be highlighted with a checkmark.
  • Results will show a percentage of votes for each option.
  • Total votes will be displayed at the bottom of the poll. As well as the remaining time to vote.

Can others see what I voted for?

No, your vote is private. Only you can see what you voted for.

Good to know: If the JOI that posted the poll has a JOI Plus subscription, they can see all the voters and their votes.

How to see who voted what on a poll

You can only see who voted what if:

  • It’s your poll
  • You have a Plus subscription

If you meet the requirements:

  1. Go to the post with the poll.

  2. You’ll see the count of votes at the bottom of the poll. Click on it.

  3. You’ll see a detailed overview of your poll:

    • If you mouse over or click on each option in the graph, you will see the vote count for that option.
    • We will assign a color to each option, so you can easily see who has voted what.

How to create a Poll

Creating a Poll on JOI

  1. Click on the chat bubble with a plus icon in the navigation bar or the Wanna say something? field at the top of your timeline to start a new post.

  2. Select the Poll icon, it looks like a bar chart.

  3. Your question goes into the main compose box.

  4. Insert your first option into the Choice 1 field and your second option into the Choice 2 field. Each option can have up to 50 characters.

  5. To add more options, click on the Add a choice field and type your option. You can add up to 4 options.

  6. Select Post to post your poll.

Notes:

  • The duration of a poll is 24 hours.
  • You can only have one poll per post.
  • You CAN add photos and GIFs along with your poll.

Already 24 hours and my poll still hasn’t ended, why?

Our system is set to check all polls and end those that have reached 24 hours every X minutes. If your poll hasn’t ended yet, it will end soon, don’t worry.

What happens when a poll ends?

When a poll ends, the results will be displayed. We’ll send you a notification so you can check the results.
